notes by the taper:
I thought this would make A nice little project and perhaps enhance the audience recording as well as put the tracks from the FM broadcast back into the original running order. I never thought that much of the FM mix before but now I have to admit it's pretty good and not as compressed as I had thought, while the audience tape is not as good as Washington or Munich.
As most of the sources on side 1 come from the FM and most on side two from the audience recording, this works out quite nicely, as the brain does not have to get used to a change in ambience with every new track and the track transitions are quite smooth overall, except between 7. & 8. on CD 1 perhaps were the band launch into "Sorry" with a vengeance just miliseconds after 'Reyes' has ended. 'Creep' is now complete for the first time.
Roland talks very little during this show to make things easier for the technicians recording it.
The last two tracks from Seattle have never circulated and are very rough in quality. The songs are headache inducing, as they are so distorted. Does anyone have the expertise and software to save this recording?

Regarding the mystery bonus tracks, years ago someone had "Tears For Fears, New York, Beacon Theater 1996" on their list and of course I just had to have this even trading a 3CD Rush show for it. Well, as it often happens, most of the tracks were definitely not from that show but other well known ones (1st Ave '96, Rockpalast '83) and only these two remained. They might even be from New York, it is hard to tell. All we can say at this point is that they are most likely from one of the US Live Kings tour dates.
Roland is referring to the fact that the album "Raoul and The Kings of Spain" was originally planned to be released on Mercury Records but the project was canceled after Tears For Fears left the label to sign with Sony/Epic Records.
The only other confirmed recording of the band doing this Oasis cover is at the tour start on April 11 in Miami.
