Genesis - 1976-05-01 - Burbank, CA (FLAC/mp3) FLAC added

(Exc audience FLAC/mp3@320)

Genesis W/Bill Bruford Live At The Starlight Bowl, Burbank CA 1976-05-01 THE DEFINITIVE EDITION from great quality master reel-to-reel (first time in circulation) with patches from the Genesis fansite!

First of all, a very big thanks to Simon of the Genesis fansite Genesis Movement. Their great website can be found at www.genesis-movement.org. It has a comprehensive oversite of the band, including pics, discographies, bootlegs, and fan recordings. Without Simon, it would not have been possible to have finished this show.

The assemblage and editing of this recording has been going on for several weeks already. My original master is a Scotch 7" reel running at 7.5ips. The runtime of that reel was only about 96 minutes. An end reel is not accounted for, could not be located, and may not exist at all. What I did have was in two large, incomplete pieces: there was a cut of over two minutes between Firth of Fifth and Entangled, and the very end of Supper's Ready was cut off. There was no material following Supper's Ready.

After writing the Genesis fansite and sending samples, it was determined that this master was in fact different from the one in the archives. Through their kind generosity, I was able to patch in the remainder of the show. Now, we'll both have a more complete copy.

This performance differs in several ways from the archive tape. For one thing, there are some great taper's comments about the pre-concert music (which is running in the background as they speak) and what they are seeing on stage. I personally have no idea, but it *seems* as if there was some kind of reference to "White Mountain". Perhaps someone could comment on that?

Next, there is additional stage patter between tracks. The band were in an extremely good mood that night. Finally, although other tracks do run longer, "Entangled" has been extended by over a minute. This version is almost nine minutes longer than the one in the archive. As for the recording quality? I think it's better, but please listen to the show and let me know. It's from a whole lot closer to the stage.

Please note that although artwork exists on the fansite, it does not cover this version. New artwork is appreciated from any of you; it will be forwarded to the fansite as well and be part of their records.

Note:
On April 9, 1991, Yes debuted its 8-man line-up and kicked off the Union world with a full THREE-HOUR show. Not one but TWO video cameras captured the momentous event.
Now, for the first time ever, TooleManTV’s “First Union” presents the union of these two videos. Every note of the first concert by this legendary line-up is captured here. This is no ordinary single-cam fan video. “First Union” cuts between the two camera angles like a professionally edited video, bringing you up-close with each member of Yes as they take solos and share the spotlight. This DVD set features a fantastic Dolby Digital 5.1 mix of the stereo sound recorded by the two cameras. Full menus are included. The original 8mm camcorder tapes and first-gen VHS copies were lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The DVD's made from the first-gen VHS copies are the best available sources that exist. Approximately 25% of the show was captured by only one of the cameras. Between the two cameras, the entire show was recorded.

Prepare to be blown away by the opening night excitement!

Recorder: UNIVONC

NOTES:
All can say is that this was an absolutely incredible show. The visuals with the music. Roger is a great artist and showman. The stage is set from one side of the arean to the other. The lights, props, and effects ..... breathtaking. For your information, small digital cameras were allowed to be used during the show. They did not allow flash photography. I kept looking at one of the guitarists, and recognized GE Smith from his Hall and Oates/SNL days! Great group of singers and musicians.

Mark Knopfler - 1996-08-03 - Vaison, France (FLAC/mp3@320)

(Soudboard FLAC/mp3@320)

ENLIGTH REMASTERED!!

Probably one of the best and most complete recordings from the Golden Heart tour. The sound quality is perfect. Note that Water Of Love in its great new version and the always fantastic Long Highway were played as well.
The third disc also contains an audience recording of the concert from the previous day, that was cancelled after three songs because of bad weather. The short interviews before and after the concert are a nice bonus.

Soundboard recording taken from master source so the sound is really excellent, as good as it can get! I'm the fool is taken from the Polish radio broadcast and it has got some slight hiss. Calling Elvis suffers from some slight distortion at the high volume parts. It is the complete concert, it even includes the music they played before the concert as well as interview before and after the concert and it also includes some of the talking between songs that was cut away on the master source to make it absolutely complete. This show includes one of the best versions of Calling Elvis and Water of love. As a bonus an audience recording is included of the songs Mark Knopfler and his band played the day before, on 2nd August 1996, same location. They had to cancel that concert after a couple of songs because of the bad weather, it was raining a lot

Pink Floyd - 1975-06-18 - Boston, MA (SHN)

It took forever to do this. Honestly I'm glad its done but I'm so enjoying the rewards of having a killer sounding recording and now you can too. This one is made up of two sources painstakingly mixed together. You really get a feel for the space. The Boston Garden was a great place to see
a concert. It was built at the cost of 4 million dollars in 1928 by the same people who built New York's Madison Square Garden. It was originally called 'Boston's Madison Square Garden' and eventually "Madison Square" was dropped from the name. The Garden was later demolished in 1997.

The Floyd live at The Garden, 18. June, 1975. Most enjoyable are the performances of You Gotta Be Crazy, which is different from both the 74 and 77 Dogs versions. The set also has great versions of Any Colour You Like and one of the last pre-87 performances of Echoes.

Mixed from two recordings merged together.
- The Hopkins recording - floor section CC, row 10, seat 14. (PRRP053H)
- The Lampinski recording - section BB, row 5, seat 6. (PRRP053L)

Set 1
01. Raving And Drooling
02. You Gotta Be Crazy
03. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (1-5)
04. Have A Cigar
05. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (6-9)

07. Breathe
08. On The Run
09. Time

11. Great Gig In The Sky
12. Money
13. Us And Them
14. Any Colour You Like

Great Show from Neil. Some in the audience were expecting a greatest hits show. Check out the guy who was sitting behind me at the end of Cinnamon Girl. He said it was "one of the worst concerts he was at". I thought it was an awesome show from a legend.
